Moab, Utah, September, 2001

When the tragedy of 9/11 hit, I had been scheduled for many months to leave the next day to play a solo concert at the Moab Music Festival in Utah. Although it was a very freaky time, I decided to “go on with the show”, and we drove the 18 hours to Moab as planned.
Interestingly, the festival turn out was larger than expected, with people clearly looking for a transcendent experience. I couldn’t have asked for a more attuned audience. The photo shows us relaxing with a marvelous glass of Kistler Chardonnay the next day at the home of a dear friend, with that incredible red rock in the background…
