| Sunday, 5 February 2012 13:48 Hi—Welcome to the Guestbook. I appreciate hearing from you, and thank those of you in the past who have taken the time to leave messages. I will respond periodically. Many of you have appreciated the quality of the web site itself, which feels very good since so much time and energy has gone into it. Others have commented favorably on recordings, live performances, or my lecture-demonstration on the psychology of improvisation. I’m touched that my work has meant something to you. I encourage you to sign up for my electronic newsletter, which has been going out about every 4-6 months (see Contact page) and allows me to comment in detail on recent activities.
The software embodied in this Guestbook is designed to defeat spam, but we all know it is not a perfect world. I apologize in advance for the occasional offensive posting that may break through. It will be removed as soon as possible.
My best to you all, |

Denny, I heard you years ago in Berkeley, play a tune called "Blue Phoenix" and I just ordered your Cathexis CD after seeing that tune was on the CD. I'm thrilled because I didn't think I was ever going to hear it again. Thanks for recording it, and all your other great tunes.

Dear Denny, I have loved your Columbia recordings for Columbia ever since I bought them in Milan in the early '80s. I was overjoyed to discover your website today and read your comments about them. Your music will never cease to move and amaze me. Thank you.

Hi Denny, I found your site after reading that you composed the music for an old Sesame Street animation from 1969 about counting to ten. The series of clips can be found on YouTube if you search for "Jazzy Spies."
I just wanted to say that I loved this segment as a young kid watching the show in the '70s because of the music which goes along with it. I've been listening to it over and over on YouTube and lamenting that kids just aren't exposed to music as superb as that on TV anymore. It was the best music on Sesame Street by far. |

Dear Mr Zeitlin, My first record of yours was "Time Remembers One Time Once" which was a great influence a bass-player friend and myself. It taught us a lot about duo playing.
Since then, rediscovering your playing through the Columbia recordings, in particular your own compositions such as "Quiet Now" and "Offshore Breeze" is a joy. Thank you for the wonderful music. With very best wishes, Simon Vincent |

Hello Denny:
I've been doing some research on Bill Evans and your name keeps coming up. I first heard your playing through another friend of yours, Foote Kirkpatrick, who has spoken of you many times. She is well and is now living in north carolina. This project is part of a class I'm taking and will keep you in the loop if you like. if you want Foote's address and phone email me and I'll forward it to you. have a great weekend Mike

Hi Denny--heard one of your cuts from
"Cathexis" on the air, and the DJ said that Mosaic is going to re-issue on CD all of your Columbia studio sessions. Hope it comes out soon--I've worn out my LPs. |

Hi Denny:
I've been listening to you since your Baltimore days and Carnival. You were a big influence on my musical tastes and now, in my later years, I am looking to invest in a jazz club here in DC, Hope to have you play there someday! |

Hi Denny,
I bought a live CD of yours some years ago and loved it. Also, you look so much like me, my brother and dad and we have the same last name. Could we possibly be related? My grandparents immigrated from Russia to the US in about 1905 and lived in Philadelphia. My mom dad moved to Brazil to start a business in 1946 so i was born here where I've lived until today. |
